 | DANGEROUS DRUGS An original translation of the Hippocratic oath from the 4th Century B.C. states in pertinent part:
"I will prescribe regimens for the good of my patients according to my ability and my judgment and never do harm to anyone. To please no one will I prescribe a deadly drug nor give advice which may cause his death."
We believe this was good advice that should be embraced by health care providers and pharmaceutical companies alike.
Drugs are a cornerstone of modern medicine. When properly used and tested, drugs have the potential to cure disease, alleviate pain, and save lives. However, when improperly tested, and prematurely dumped on the consuming public by pharmaceutical companies eager to make a profit at any cost, drugs can devastate lives and cause early death. Drug companies have made billions upon billions of dollars marketing their drugs, many of which were not only unsafe, but which actually caused disease and injury.
